Hey guys

whats your opinions on this?

I came back from Arizona on Sunday flying delta the entire route.

The flight out had a malfunction so we lost a day at the start then on the way back they and another malfunction and they had to hold the LHR back so we would make it, not for us specifically but for the 23 pax on board all going to the UK.

The service, entertainment and flight was terrible. I don't understand how virgin think that this is a good idea!

At the moment I'm avoiding the DL flights to UK, and using VS every time - I guess Arizona was via Atlanta though?. There are lots of issues with booking imho (see my threads on booking issues).

That said, it IS a good option to earn miles on in-USA, and the flights are not that bad - for the destinations I fly to, which have no Jetblue or VA service. Great mileage and TP earning potential though. Work is finding it cheaper to book the legs separately on different PNR's rather than on one - as the VS->DL legs appear overpriced compared to works DL rates, making the VS option overall more pricy than DL. This also results in a 7 TP haul for a cross channel journey in UC (Z) - each way.

Ive got a flight to Hawaii next year and im going VS to LAX then DL to Honolulu and the other islands.

I think the only benefits seem to be that I can rack up the miles quicker!!

It was a horrible flight home, Tuscon > Salt lake city > Minneapolis > London > edinburgh!

*cry*

Ah Minneapolis. That is a route to avoid on DL - from the rumour mill at work they've had a lot of grief there.

That said, lovely city - one of my favourite US citys to go out at night in. Had some excellent nights out alone in the city with randoms - one with a pilot from DL incidentally who was on downtime for 48 hours.

I have a DL transit via LAX to another city in a few weeks in Econ to report on - will put on here ;)
