Hi guys

I booked my holiday with virgin, the US leg (lax>hon) is with delta (groan!!)

Will I be limited to their luggage allowance? Eg 1 bag @ 23kg

Afraid so John

If you've booked a journey with Virgin Atlantic which includes Virgin Atlantic mixed class or a trip on another airline, each class or airlines baggage allowance will apply for each of the individual sectors.

That is a bit harsh..!

I havent flown with Delta for a long time so look forward to a TR on this - especially as its only a matter of time before I book VA and its Delta. Are they like they were 5 years ago, it was pretty budget!

But isn't VS baggage entitlement in Y 1 bag @ 23kg anyway?

Correct.
Is the problem where you are flying two sectors in different classes?
Eg 1st sector PE or UC then 2nd sector in Y

Yep! I'm heading to LAX UC but needed to change to economy to fly to Hawaii.

I'm a little worried about any baggage fees. I think we will have 2 bags each

I see. Do delta allow you to book and pay for extra baggage in advance like VS do?

I done a luggage xfer in JFK to Delta via virgin UC to a ticket on same PNR, but not paid by Virgin - no baggage fees to pay here.

I leave next saturday for my quick break in vegas and will see if I get a UC luggage allowance or have to pay when I'm doing a 48 hour layover.
