Good morning from the JFK Clubhouse

First time in here, very nice - if without the wow factor the LHR one has.
Saw a sign at check-in to upgrade from PE to UC FROM $1600! Do people ever pay that?
Anyway, I will raise an orange juice (way too early for a Redhead, and no alcohol here until after 8am anyway) to my last flight of the year getting me back to London and a rare month without setting foot on a plane

Enjoy your time in the clubhouse and I hope you have a good return flight. Are the staff in a sombre mood as it is the Fifty anniversary of JFK's death today?

I have no basis for comparison of course, but they don't seem particularly sombre

Had three people on the same flight as me who upgraded from PE to UC LGW-MCO last year at a princely sum of £980 per upgrade.
My entire week away didn't cost me that!
Have a great flight and safe journey!

I mean UC is good, but I'm not sure it's worth that much to upgrade. Having said that, I've never flown in PE - always been able to use miles to upgrade. But it looks good, certainly better than BA's original iteration (haven't flown in the new one)

That's impulse buying for you - if they make it sound like you're getting a lovely upgrade for a special price, people will go for it and think they've got a good deal when in fact it's probably exactly the same price as they would have paid if they'd booked UC in the first place.
