Good Afternoon from the Servisair Lounge at T1

Just arrived in from LA on the VS8 and connecting to Manchester. Have to say I was looking forward to flying on VS again and I feel very underwhelmed so far. Nothing bad just blah - no special touches - apart from the 'glitz' of the UC cabin itself.

Oh and just to cap it off we had a spectacular view of Lake Windermere and the snow capped fells, where we are actually heading to today, on the way in!

As to my current location this is tantamount to Hades' waiting room - although I would imagine there would be a bit more atmosphere there! Oh and please putting a sign up next to a bowl of nuts saying 'may contain nuts' is just plain ridiculous.

Let's see if Little Red can redeem the situation?

Will do a TR in due course.

Yep, the Servisair lounge in T1 at LHR is utter rubbish...best avoided :)

The seating area around the domestic gates in T1 is way better and has more sparkle to it than that lounge. You even get windows and a view of the runway from the gate area ;)

Agree with your comments re the Lounge, nothing special. Much better to make your way to the Costa Coffee near the gate, usually quiet and a nice view of the runway to pass the time.
Weather up here in the Lakes is perfect for this time of the year , clear and cold with just a dusting do snow on the mountains. y)

As mitch says the views from the LR boarding area are absolutely awesome so I'd stock up on freebies from the lounge and then head to the gate. There is also a Costa there in case you run out of coffee and biccies :D

The Servisair lounge is basic, but tbh all that is really required for a short wait. As for the 'may contain nuts' notice.. you would be amazed how many idiots there are out there that will see the lack of the notice as a license to go into anaphylactic shock and subsequently sue v(

Hope you enjoy the LR flight 8D

Welcome back to Blighty Rob :D .
Hope you've got lots of warm clothes - it's a bit colder here than in MEL :0 :0 .

Hi guys - sorry for the delayed response and thanks for the tip. The gate lounge is far nicer and does indeed have great views of the runway.

The wedding was great as was the weather in the Lakes, cool (read positively freezing) but still managed a cruise on Lake Windermere, crunched on frozen puddles and saw snow atop the fells. England at her finest.

Now down in London for a few days before hitting the Big Apple and DC on the way home.
