Had an email from the Virgin peeps letting me know about the following latest specials:

  • Fly to New York from £456. Book by 5 December - departure 25/DEC/2013 - 31/MAR/2014
  • Fly to Boston from £481. Book by 5 December - departure 25/DEC/2013 - 31/MAR/2014
  • Fly to Washington from £517. Book by 5 December - departing25/DEC/2013 - 31/MAR/2014
  • Fly to San Francisco from £575. Book by 5 December - departing 25/DEC/2013 - 31/MAR/2014
  • Fly to Cap Town from £757. Book by 25 November - departing 12/JAN/2014– 31/JAN/2014
  • Fly to Sydney from £846. Book by 16 December - departing 20/APR/2014 - 21/MAY/2014
  • Fly to Tokyo from £595. Book by 30 November - departing 24/ARP/2014 - 31/MAY/2014

Local flights
  • London to Manchester (round trip) from £89. Book by 30 November 2013
  • London to Aberdeen (round trip) from £88. Book by 09 December 2013
  • London to EDI (round trip) from £59. Book by 09 December 2013

The Edinburgh specials look particularly attractive if you're looking for a cheap mileage run. 2 tier points for £59 plus 1500 miles. From zero tier points you can earn Gold for £1180, which is one of the cheapest routes I can certainly remember, plus you'd earn almost enough miles for a round trip to New York.

As usual, special offer fares can be found here: http://www.virgin-atlantic.com/en/gb/sp ... /index.jsp

Might have to wait for them to be loaded. I got the email Friday, so they may go on over the weekend.

£59 ?!!

Are you sure that's not a typo... £89 sale fares often surface on the EDI route, and loads are looking pretty good these days. 59 seems bonkers..

£1,180 PLUS the inconvenience of 40 flights (so, 60 hours of actual flying + 60 hours of "airportness" etc). Assume an 8-10 hour day, that's 2 weeks solid of your life, just flying up and down between London and EDI.

If someone needs to do that just to get a gold card - they're probably not going to be getting much value from it after all... :0

Of course, if someone is commuting anyway, well, there's the bargain to be had y)

So McCoy is right - I've been informed it's a typo!

Damn, it was too good to be true... ;-)
