Hi all

As heads-up, we now have approval from the TSA to offer ex-US mobile boarding cards, and these additional US airports were activated on Monday 25th Nov.

SFO
LAS
BOS
EWR
IAD
MCO

LAX and MIA have yet to be enabled but are coming soon.

Mobile boarding passes (MBP) are now available on the following routes:

Flights departing : LHR (except VS200)/LGW/MAN/EDI/ABZ/SFO/EWR/JFK/LAS/MCO/BOS/IAD/CPT/JNB/NRT/DXB

Please give the service a go.

Happy Thanksgiving!

regards

I couldn't get a mobile boarding pass for last nights VS28. There was no option for it at on line check in.

Does think include Passbook boarding passes, or just the "old style" ones?

Hi

Yes, Apple Passbook is available again so it will be one of the options offered.

The web site also says "Ability for passengers travelling in groups or with family to download a mobile boarding pass"

Has anybody tried multiple boarding passes - any screen shots ?

Just got my MBPs for tomorrow's VS46..

Just done three of them in one go, although I will not be loading any screen shots given I am a fan of my private info remaining just so - sorry, I am a paranoid nutcase at times :P .

They came through as three individual emails to load into passbook, or leave in the email inbox. All have loaded into the app easily and will let y'all know how it turns out tomorrow eve if you want.

Interestingly, there is a golden box above my barcode with 'Priority' written in it - no such for my folks (red members nowadays)

In theory, this will be much quicker for crew to recognise FFs than trying to suss out a FC number. I wonder if they will... ii)

Hi I'm interested how you got on - I've just loaded five boarding passes on to my iPhone ready for MCO tomorrow.

Does security look for each person to hold their own pass?

Hi there, JFK security were a tad confused at first as they had nothing to draw on and then sign :D . If possible, I do recommend adults have their own BPs to speed things along... If not of course it will be fine, it may just take a little longer with the TSA dutifully double checking everything - they did with me and mine, I was even asked my own name twice as she didn't like my abbreviated Joe to the full Christian name of Joseph. ii)

No probs using them to get into the lounge.. they know me there anyway, but my folks had no probs either.

We purchased some Duty Free and the store clerk scanned the phone for BP confirmation.

No problems at the gate, the barcode scanned fine and the iPhone fit snuggly under the BP scanner - this one I got to do myself :)

On boarding, the crew recognised we were on the correct flight and the seat numbers in a matter of seconds swiping across. The AU box with priority written across it on mine was ignored though and no welcome back offered n( a shame as I do not know how it can be made simpler. Oh well, it happens so rarely it doesn't bother me any more.

I suppose the only problem, if any with the system, is that you keep having to give your phone to strangers.... just hope they wash their hands after bathroom visits :P

The VIrgin Australia service has mobile boarding pass capability but insists on a different phone number for each pass.

No issues using a VS PassBook boarding pass at MCO yesterday here, either getting through security (via the priority lane), getting into the Delta lounge or boarding the aircraft.

They are are labeled as priority where applicable.
