FOG!!!

So this morning's fog is playing havoc with the Little Red schedules including my friend's 1040 MAN-LHR service which has now been cancelled. Shame she is connecting onto the VS45 with me! Luckily, the staff here at Heathrow are super helpful. y)

This is my first ever flight as AU. As I was travelling on a G fare (upgraded from M), I was able to change to the later VS9 to be on the same flight as my friend FOC. They even managed to get us the last two seats together.

Now have a super long wait in the Clubhouse but I think I will survive. Just had breakfast, will hit the shops soon and have hair, facial and massage to look forward to!! I had just better keep of the booze til later or I won't make it on the flight!!!

Fingers crossed the fog lifts enough so the 1415 from Manchester gets my friend here for the VS9 or we could be on the VS25!! :P

I've been here at LHR Gate 8 since 08:15. I arrived just as they announced the cancellation of the 09:05 to MAN!

I was rebooked onto the 12:20 but now that is delyaed until 13:20

VS issued us all with refreshment vouchers and I am just availing myself of an early lunch in Costa courtesy of VS.

The fog as lifted rapidly .... I can now see the hotels over the road which couldn't be seen 10 minutes ago.

Hope evey one gets to where they want to be , soon.

I came into Heathrow aboard the VS6 from Miami this morning (having been bumped off 2 consecutive flights on Sunday and Monday). I can tell you that the view of Central London was absolutely stunning with Canary Wharf, the City and the Shard all poking their heads above the low lying clouds/fog. Apart from the cloud base, that was all there was to see. Absolutely stunning.

that picture was great!!!
On the subject of Fog i noticed that G-VELD appears to have been redirected to LGW on return from NRT yesterday but then G-VELD hopped across to LHR. Would I be right to assume that the hop to LHR would have been after the PAX were unloaded? simply to get her in position for next flight?

Not sure about G-VELD yesterday but I have been on a BA flight that got diverted to LGW to refuel after bad weather and higher fuel burn. We were given the option of getting off a LGW or staying on board for the hop to LHR. Given my car was at LHR and rush hour M23 and M25 traffic I stayed on board. Was a very quick flight!

Diversion was probably due to excessive hold times at LHR leading to potential fuel issues if they had to do a missed approach etc. Safer to drop in to LGW for a 'splash and dash'.

Indeed: my flight from PVG was poised to do the same thing but thankfully didn't have to.

Flew into LGW yesterday morning from PUJ, arrived at 0810 which was 45 mins late (but we had left 45 mins late from PUJ) so effectively no problems, Was an interesting landing though, we entered the fog at a few thousand feet and next thing felt the bump of landing y) without having seen the descent :)
