Good news for those who fancy a trip to YVR in 2014.

The 'day 1' (Monday) departure from YVR at 00.25 looks interesting.

Which, as it stands, must leave the 45/46 the only NYC flights still operated by a 747? Shame.

The VS9/10 are running 747's for the summer.

This is interesting - there is still no VS flight to Toronto. Will they open this, or have they ever ran this service?

They flew to Toronto for a short time but it was one of the routes cut following 9/11

Perhaps it will come back in the future. I owuld say once the JV is up and running there is less risk in opening up new routes like this. Especially as the JV covers Mexico as well as Canada.

That seems odd as the VS1/2 have always been full when I have travelled on it.

The VS1 departure time's changing, though, from 4pm to around 9.30am as part of the DL JV agreement. They must reckon there'll be less demand then.

Interesting, have they ever been regularly scheduled on the 9/10? It's taken the 1/2's usual timings so assume VS feel confident people will just switch from EWR to JFK.

The 1/2 usually seems full so interesting that they have dropped all those seats compared to JFK although I guess with the JV a shift towards DL hubs was always in the offing!
