Seating and 24 hour policy

Hi all,

I'm scheduled to fly to Orlando in late January and not happy with my seat 'requests'.

I understand that they will release further seats 24 hours prior to departure. My question is how do I get these new seats - do I do exactly as now and click on 'view or change seats' under flight itinerary OR do I 'check in' and get the option through this process?

The reason I ask is that I'm sure a couple years ago I was unable to change seats once it got to 24 hours......at least in the same manner as described above. Could be my mind is playing tricks on me though and I'm over complicating a very simple process.

Thanks in advance for any help.

Nick

It reality depends on how full the flight is. If it is full or nearly full, then the option to change seats will not be available.

You need to complete OLCI, and on the final OLCI screen there will be a seat map button.

It is worth checking a few hours before OLCI opens as quite often some seats are released at this time also.

So just to confirm then that my memory was correct - I only get to change seats once I start the OLCI process?

That's a great bit of advice as I never knew that. Based on a 1140am flight what time do you suggest I start looking the previous morning? 7am early enough do you think?

Cheers.

I wonder if the new charge for seats will affect your booking if you decide to try and change the seats?
