I've just checked my FC account. Last year I earnt 12 tier points. However, only nine are showing as I've still to claim for an EC to UC upgraded flight. Yet (and this I don't get), my Silver status has been renewed. How??? I'm delighted but very, very confused!

Given that Ag renewal is 15 TPs you have been lucky.

Then again, VS IT rarely exists in the same space time as the rest of us, so give it a week or so to drop you back down to red.

If not, I'd say keep the head down and hope it sticks for the rest of the year..

One other quirk is if you signed up with a corporate offer - this happened for my OH and she was upgraded to Gold mysteriously with far fewer than the 40TPs required

For the common corp offer, you will see instant silver upon sign up and then Au granted with 30 TPs in a 9 month period. Renewals are still held at 15TP for Ag and 40TP for Au.

The only time I have seen this differ is when the company has a route deal with VS, then the renewal numbers are much lower for the company flyers.

Then again, we must not forget that the VS IT gremlins do have a mind of their own at times

Same thing has happened to me, I have been waiting for them to take, my Silver status and bonus miles away any day.
I qualified at the end of October with only 6 tier points, but they have sent me a silver pack up.
Hubby had extra points added last year twice and they stayed on for several months, then they were all taken away and his status dropped to Red, so am anticipating it happening any time now. :0 Linda

Same thing happened to me too, yesterday.
I saw two new entries in my Flying Club statement:
"Congratulations, your silver membership has been renewed." and
"Silver Renewal Bonus"
...even though I was 3 tier points short of renewal at the end of December and was expecting to be reduced back to Red.
