Parents and LHR Clubhouse Lounge.

Hello!

I think I already know the answer to this question.. but thought i'd throw it out to the forum to see if there is a possible solution.

I'm planning on flying my folks (and myself) to the US in May. It will be their first ever long haul holiday, so want to make it as special as possible.

I'll be flying over with them and i have planned to book us into Premium Economy on the way over, and to surprise them with Upper Class on the way back (they'd be flying back without me as I now live in NYC).

On the way over i'd like to take them both into the lounge. I'm a Gold Card member so can access it no problem, and obviously I can take a guest with me, but with it being 3 of us i've hit a road block.

I can't really afford to stretch to Upper Class both ways, so is there a way I can get my parents and I into the lounge if only I'm a Gold member?

On the way back they are in UC so can access the NYC lounge no problem.

Is there any solution?

Always :D

1. Guest List package - CH access is bundled in there. Expensive granted, but not as expensive as three UC tickets.
2. Buy access into the lounge for an extra guest.. subject to space. No guarantees of course, but far better economy than option 1.
3. Check the v-flyer itinerary calendar for anyone offering a spare lounge access who happens to be on the same flight.
4. As an AU, have you got any miles kicking around for some UC upgrades? That would make the prob disappear :P

Thanks for the many solutions!

I think I might be able to make one of them work

Do check itineraries here but very often FC allow an extra guest in for a fee--just ask at check-in Lounge. With 2 of you already in, chances are good you'll be granted access for a third.

I did the exact same thing with my Parents (albeit a few years ago and when I was still Au :# ). Paid £60 for the extra guest into the club house, they didn't have any problem.

Regards,

Dave
