Hello All
I am sure that I am late to the party on this - however just had an email for my flights to NYC (and back of course!) regarding flight changes.
It would appear this is the second one I have had in about 2 months. VS003 now departs at 09:05 in oppose to 09:30 which limites CH time! But they have changed VS046 as well - which is a bit strange. Originally 19:30 to 08:00 its now arriving at LHR at 07:50.
How can they shave 10 mins of a flight, new metal or is this the pre curser to more changes?

A few of the NYC flights are changing times from the end of March, all to do with the DL JV and creating a half hourly frequency out of New York in the evenings.
As for shaving 10 mins off a flight, from experience NYC-LHR flights often land up to an hour early with a favourable wind. I suspect quite a bit of padding time is built in to allow for ATC & slot congestion at LHR. Presumably they've managed to secure a slightly earlier landing slot for the VS46.

My VS19 flight in July has also had 5mins shaved off the flight time as well as I received an email and text from VS last week about it, the flight now lands at 16:00 instead of 16:05!!

Just had a schedule change in my flight in June on Vs019 LHR-SFO which was just making flight 10 mins shorter.

Interesting, spoke to a friend who used to be a pilot and he said that LHR are really bad on fines to all airlines who miss their 'slots'. So on these flights they will try to get it closer to a real time to avoid either holding or a fine...
Apparently these change a lot and airlines will fight over this so they dont get a fine.
