LGW-MCO fastest off the plane?

Hi all,

I am about to travel to Orlando and I have a question. With regards to economy passengers who gets to disembark the aircraft first - the bubble or main cabins? No seats are available right now but guessing 24 hours before they release them upstairs and the rest of the plane. I think someone told me only 40% of the seats are released pre 24 hour period...

I ask as my number one criteria for seating on this route is to get off the plane asap so I'm first in the dreadful immigration hall (waited 2 hours last time). For this reason I normally pick a seat as close to row 25 A-C as possible. My worst nightmare would be upstairs and 'trapped' waiting for another couple hundred people to leave before I could follow!

Thanks in advance for any help. Nick

Welcome to V-Flyer :)

Once the forward Premium and Upper class cabins on the main deck get off, it basically then becomes a free for all.

This is one of the reasons why I'm not sitting on the upper deck any more in Premium, as there' nothing much 'Premium' about sitting up there now I'm afraid to say.

The exit row in Y nearest the door, they seem to be able to sneak out before anybody....

Thank you both for responses and welcome.

I'll see what I can choose when (hopefully) more seats become available the day before.

Different experience, we flew out to MCO in Y the day before Mitchja and sat in bubble a couple of weeks ago. They let the downstairs UC and PE cabin first, and the rest of the main cabin was still held back while they let the bubble pax off.

As NH has pointed out, the Y exit row by the main door is always let off with the first group of pax so they aren't in the way.

Another vote for the bubble from me. The last two times I have been in the back row up there and have been one of the first economy passengers off the plane (apart from those lucky three in the exit by the door!).

I am more confused after this post than before as there are differing opinions. I think I'll play it safe and go for rows 25-28'ish as at the very worse I'll be ahead of most of the economy passengers.

Thanks all.

Sort of linked: Anyone know which is the best flight in terms of passenger crowding, VS027 or VS015?

Probably depends on time of year. I travel every January on one of these flights and both seem to be half empty. Obviously in August it would be a different scenario entirely.

Back on the 20th November I was on a packed VS27 and buns was on a very empty VS15 both trip reports are on here.

to be honest, that last time we flew to MCO - we ended up behind the tail end of a BA flight.

As such, we still had to wait at least 40 minutes, even though we were in PE and first off the air bridge.

Obviously, being right at the back of Y won't do you any favours.

I'd recommend being as close to the front of Y, or back of PE on the main deck - that is, unless you're in Upper of course.

I've never arrived to an empty Immigration hall at MCO - no matter which carrier I fly with.

Thanks tekcom, I think I will do just that. Although in defence of Orlando I still say Miami is the worst airport for immigration halls - at least that I've been to anyway.

Cheers.
