You will all be familiar with the announcement for priority boarding, inviting travellers with young children, Delta elite, flying club gold members etc.....

This morning it was announced as flying club gold and SILVER members, of which I am one so was delighted! Is this a new thing, a one off or an accident? This is the third time I have taken this flight in the last few weeks and have never heard silver included. As with the last flights the load was light (50 passengers at the most) although I personally chose Virgin over any other airline are these domestic flights economically viable? Incidentally todays metal was in Aer Lingus colours.

Chris.

As far as I am aware priority boarding on LR is not a Silver benefit.

A one-off perhaps, although given how light the loads are at the moment perhaps a feather that they will be adding to the Ag cap.

I'm on LR just about every week and never heard them call Ag card holders in the priority boarding announcement before.

On all my flights taken in January, the average load was about 80-100 I was mostly on the VS3044 and VS3045 but the last few flights were even in excess of 100, highest load in January that I experienced was 127 which was great to see :D

Come to think of it they announced priority boarding for Au and Ag on one of my LR flights 3 weeks ago. Can't remember if it was at LHR or MAN.

I've got another return trip this weekend so I'll pay more attention and report back.

I have heard AG called once before at MAN just after LR started.

Yep, the aircraft on lease from Aer Lingus was back to DUB for maintenance so they did a direct swap with one of the planes directly underneath Aer John's office! ):

I have heard Ag called along with AU several times out of LHR though could be on one flight announcement (e.g. EDI) and then not on the following (e.g. ABZ). Perhaps this could be based on the passenger manifest and how many pax onboard for each group?

Interestingly, when I was AG, I was always given fast track security - again an AU benefit. Maybe because I had enough future bookings to take me to AU in the system? Or maybe because I smiled ever so sweetly... :D
