Anyone use the bid for upgrade. Just wondering what you all think. I have put in a bid to upgrade to PE on my return from Jamaica. Didnt think I would have to wait till 4 days before the flight to see if it is accepted.

where do you do that anyway?

im flying in april and I would have given it a go

If you go into manage my booking ...when it brings all your flight details i.e seat selection above that there should be ' bid for an upgrade' If not trying calling virgin and asking the question. Good luck

Pretty sure it's not available on all routes, and I've yet to here of anyone getting a decent deal by doing it

I had a call direct from virgin offering me an upgrade from PE to UC FOR £1200 pp each way when the bid up says £918 each..crazy !!

It's only offered on certain flights on certain routes.

The consensus seems to be that it's a marketing gimmick, designed to make you think you can grab a bargain when in reality it's anything but.

I Can upgrade my PE seat to UC for £750 so i went to look on BID UP and the starting price is £1550 hahahahaha

Or entirely right if someone's daft enough to do it. And I bet people do.

I put in a bid of £185. So I will see how it goes. I got my flights for free of virgin so don't mind paying a few quid to upgrade

It was available on mines, when I knew the price difference was in the current sale from PE to UC (was about 1050 return). Minimum bid was 1500, top bid was 4000. I don't bother click it anymore...
