MCO Check-in opening times

Travelling to Orlando next week, and on our last day we'll be going past the airport on our way to the Universal. Does anyone know when the VA checkin desks open at MCO (would like to avoid going to Downtown Disney check-in if possible)?

Thanks

Sounds like we may have to make a detour then, or keep our things in the car and check-in at the airport later.

I have been to MCO about 12 times in the past 14 years & would never do anything other than DTD check-in on the last day since I got the Upper Class bug back in 2006 (so DTD is free). IMO, it makes it so much easier to turn up at MCO with just hand luggage.

Of course, it's a case of "horses for courses". It all depends on your party size / where you are staying / what plans you have for the final day. We always stay on International drive down near Premium Outlets on Vineland Rd, so we can be at DTD in 10mins, drop the bags then clear off to Universal for the final day.

Finally, IMO the real benefit of DTD check-in is from a car security viewpoint, especially if you are planning on leaving your car in a parking lot anywhere on the last day. Get rid of all the checked luggage in the morning & you can then almost certainly leave all your hand luggage locked out of sight in the boot. An empty looking car should not tempt anyone - one loaded with bags on view might.

Could not agree more, get ride of all the luggage asap at DTD. its worth paying to $10 pp for the piece of mind.

We have done DTD check-in a few times ourselves already, and if we were intending to head to the Disney Parks for the day we would again. We're getting of a Disney Cruise in the morning and so will be driving by the airport on our way to Universal for the day, so it'll be easier for us to just keep the bags in the car this time I think.

Without wanting to teach Granny how suck eggs, please make sure you keep all your valuables, especially passports etc on you at all times then. I have read so many reports/experiences of people who have left luggage etc in the car on their last day while going to a park only to come back and find it broken in to, I would hate that to happen to you.

The parks do have fairly good security in their car parks, but I still personally wouldn't risk doing it, each to their own though.
