A little win on an exit row... and good customer service.

Just booked a trip for work from LHR-LAX and the SFO-LHR in April - got both in N for a pretty good price. I just called VS to sort out some extra leg room on the return leg and was told I could upgrade for 12k miles and only £45 - cheaper than I'd imagined to move up to qualifying fare and a lot better than £80 for an exit row!
Great CS as well from VS.

£45 + miles from an N to PE? That sounds like an incredible deal. Surely the fare difference to an M + extra fuel surcharge > £45? Has it been ticketed successfully?

I have to say I was surprised at the price. The base fare was £374 - £757.45 in total. My miles have been debited and the booking is showing as PE for the return leg. I haven't received a new e-ticket yet but will let you know when it comes through! I guess also coming from the US it's always going to cheaper on surcharges etc then going from LHR.

Just an update - I just received my new e-ticket for the flights above and it's confirmed as a £45 difference for the PE upgrade. Any reason this would be so low!?

there have been a few sales recently so you may have just got lucky with a reduced fare.
