Last minute change of seating

Since T-60 I have had 6a & 6k requested on my flight tomorrow. Checked my booking every day since & it's been fine. Just checked in & they have moved us to 10k & 11k, no change of aircraft! v(
UC call centre staff say nothing can be done until tomorrow & can't explain why this has happened. I'll be lucky if I can get Mrs T on the plane as she is a nervous flyer & only likes 6a.
Does anyone know if this can be amended (& how) today?

There is no way this can be amended today I am afraid. The airport team now have control over the seating so it will only be when you get to the airport tomorrow and it will need to agreement of those pax who will have now been allocated row 6.

That's very bad luck but sadly it does happen. At the end of the day seat requests are just that and are never guaranteed on any airline - even when paid for.
It could be there's a baby travelling and that's the most appropriate position. It could be a family or a group who've requested to sit together, involving some reshuffling. It could even be someone the airline deems a VIP who wants that seat - or it could just be one of those strange "operational reasons" that allow airlines to do whatever they want without explanation.
Whatever the reason it's very annoying but there's little you can do until you check in. When you do, explain Mrs T's situation, remain calm, understanding and pleasant (which I'm sure you will although not everyone does!) and even turn on a bit of charm - it may get you somewhere but don't expect miracles.

Thats disappointing taffytorchy, as the others have said it is going to be for some random operational reason but don't be afraid to give it a pop at the airport.
I hope you and Mrs T get the seats you requested.

Yay, got 6a & 6k, they were changed due to a broken table at 6a.

Top result taffy ^) Guessing the table has been fixed now?
Enjoy the LGW CH to the max and have a great flight. Don't forget to raise a toast to fallen V-Flyers currently slaving away in order to afford that next CH experience 8D

Did you have to jump through any hoops to get them to reassign you to those seats or was it just a question of enquiring why and, when given the answer, just saying a broken table wasn't an issue for you?

We told them that a broken table wasn't an issue for us as we would dine together. They had to check with operations that they were happy & move someone who was allocated 6k, so all ok I'm the end. Let's hope for no problems on the way home 12a & k on LHR 747

Result for you and fair play to VS for not just taking the "computer says no" line.
Though presumably on a site somewhere in a far distant galaxy there is someone complaining about being moved from 6K :w
