Arriving into Mumbai

I will be arriving at BOM on VS354 early next Tuesday. My friend is flying BA and arrives 5 minutes before me and we will be meeting up before heading to the hotel. Do Virgin and BA use the same area of Terminal 2 for arrivals? I believe a new Terminal 2 opened in February and I just want to make sure of logistics of where to meet. We have a car to take us to the hotel that will be waiting for us with the BA flight details. Any help from those who have used the airport recently would be much appreciated.

Checked with a friend, they both should land in the same place in the fancy new arrivals hall at T2.

I missed the opening of the new airport by literally minutes :'( . It's grand opening was the day I was flying out :( You can imagine the complete chaos the outgoing terminals was in :S

I'm flying to Mumbai Easter Monday and can't wait to experience the new airport. Its apparently an airport crossed with an art gallery with over 7,000 pieces of Artwork on the walls!

Have a great flight and Look forward to your Trip Report ;)

Yes same terminal. BA arrives 30 mins before usually. Arrange to meet in the area beyond the bag pickup point - or in the bag area - both are nice big open area. You may both end up in immigration at same time if the queues are as bad as they can be in Mumbai.

Unfortunately no coffee/other facility's except toilets and money exchange on lower-floor were open last month on arrivals.

Take some deet patches/airport size spray in hand luggage - the airport has lots of mozzies at moment in the post-immigration area (or did on my last visit a month ago).

Hmm unless they have sacked all the staff and removed the bribery and nepotism then I imagine it is still pretty grim. I hear the rats have gone- one dropped from the ceiling and landed near me last time I was in Mumbai arrivals.

I found this story yesterday. Looks like NASA has no bounds! Hope it works, not so much for me, but my friend who reacts quite a bit to mozzie bites. I have told her to get some repellant in the T5 shops as mentioned above.
