Morning all V Flyers,
Looking at purchasing an extra row seat in EC on the LGW-LAS route and have a question.
I travelled a couple of years ago before the refurb took place and I was seated in a exit row aisle seat in EC but the window exit row seat was restricted for leg room as there was a bulge on the door (think its the shoot) which prevented you stretching your legs out fully.
Wondered is this still the same on the refurbed planes ?| as I wouldnt want to buy an exit row seat and be placed here

Personally I would choose the extra legroom seats which are a little cheaper, offer 34 inches of legroom and are not near toilets or galleys!
Plus the seats are not as narrow as exit rows.
But yes the shoot is still there

I would concur with declansmith's advice, above. Sit in an exit row and you are going to have people loitering round in front of you waiting for the use of the toilets throughout the flight. The slight exception is row 49, which is an exit row, but without any toilets (just a galley here) - you'll doubtless still get people hanging round as they stretch their legs during the flight.
At one time, if you bought the A or K exit row seat (with the restricted legroom due to the evacuation slide) and someone you were travelling with bought the middle seat, you got one of the seats at half price. Based on the presumption that if you infringe the legroom of a travelling companion, there is unlikely to be a complaint.
Extra legroom seats are cheaper and offer more privacy than the exit rows. Extra legroom seat by the window is ideal IMO - no-one can disturb you. (Other than a nice child on the seat behind using the touch-screen [read "thump-screen" v( IFE].

Just a slightly different thought to look at - if you can get the exit row seats upstairs, you aren't impacted by the door bump and you also don't have the issue of people standing in the gap or waiting for the toilets etc. You also get the benefit of the much quieter upper deck.

^^^ this
last year i had an aisle exit row seat in the bubble, row 75 i think, it was great, quiet cabin, no disturbance at all, best sleep i ever had in EC
only downside is the tables are in the armrest, so you lose a bit of seat width
