First trip in UC - 19AK or 12AK?

Hi Guys,
We're due to take our first trip in UC later this year, been slowly moving up the plane. 1st trip was to Tampa in economy both ways, last time went to Miami, outbound in economy (in the bubble with three seats between the two of us) return in PE. This time we're in UC outbound and PE on our return.
Quick question, I've been tempted with trying to get the frontmost seats (12A/K) for me & Mrs Rex, they appear to give quite good privacy for the seats as a pair. Having said that, I've seen many of the frequent visitors to UC trying to get seats 19A/K. Can anyone tell me the main differences, should I be going for seats 19 instead of getting right to the front?
Cheers,

If you are a 747 in and out of Miami, then 12 A/K allows you to see one another easily - 19 A/K has a bit of distance between them and I would not recommend for a couple

I've never been a fan of 12AK, I observe the ottomans to be too close and I'm sure the beds are shorter. V-Flyers travelling solo on a 747 like me love 19A or K because they're (IMO) the best in the nose.
If I were you I'd look at a pair of As or Ks somewhere between 19 and 12 ... the cabin is wide so an A and a K other than 12 can be quite far apart.

As a couple 12AK without doubt, otherwise a pair of A/K's around 15/16.

Is it easy to grab 12A/K when you're not AU or a star, especially on LAX flights ?

Thanks all, I have to admit whilst I like the look of the space around row 19, especially as I intend a visit to the bar, 12A/K seem like the best option for us.
I can definitely understand not wanting row 12 if you didn't know the person opposite though!

After following advice from seasoned vflyers including slinky 19A or K is the top choice for me as a single traveller y)

Yes, just be quick once the seat map opens - we always grab those when we fly on the 747's

I've bagged 19A and 18A for our next trip it miami. Although traveling with my partner I think we will prefer these seats
No one else has requested any seat in the nose! The bubble is full and 2 seats in the B zone have gone!
Just need to get the same seats for our return!
Good luck with your requests.

I've heard you say in other posts how much you like row 19, but I'm still not sure what advantage they would have over a 15, 16 or 17, for example. If there are more people walking past and aiming for that gap between the galley structure and the seat partition behind, isn't that sometimes a bit annoying? Also, isn't the proximity of the galley an issue?
Maybe it's something that I can only appreciate by trying it once.

I guess 19A/K are popular because you've only got one person next to you, and the seat opposite is as far away as it's possible to get so they afford a bit more privacy than most other seats.
I was in 19K a couple of weeks back and didn't notice the galley at all - it's far enough away not to be annoying.

The structure between 19a and 19k is a wardrobe the galley is further back.
I flew in 19a on Thursday and agree with others that it is the best seat in the A zone.

It is mainly the small extra degree of privacy that I like, and having only one neighbour as well as easy access. Once the Bose's are on the foot traffic doesn't really bother ...

Does anyone have any experience as a couple in 12 & 13 A or K? Basically, I want to sit at the very front but my partner says she’d rather sit next to me than opposite me. Now I’m concerned I’m going to be playing footsie with a stranger. Are they really that close together? I can imagine some awkward eye contact moments… :0

There's no row 13.

At the front the A and K are very close. Great for couples, not so for singles. I flew back from San Francisco playing footsie with a stranger who was pointedly reading a book entitled 'Controlling Alcohol'.

For me, 18/19A is my favourite for a couple. 19A for single. 12A+K & 14A+K as a group of four, as I find 12A is still be quite intimate with row 14, might just be me!
