Z class not bookable but available (says expertflyer)

Hi
I am trying to book DUB-MIA return in upper class.I can see on expert flyer that VS05 is wide open on 26th April (z=8) but any fare using that flight is loads more expensive than routing via MAN as it books into d class and not z. Can anyone explain this?

It's probably because the ex-DUB leg is booked on a flexible fare on EI and thus the same type of ticket on VS. I have long since stopped booking through fares from Ireland and use separate bookings making sure there's enough leeway for things going wrong on the first leg. The down side is not being able to check bags all the way through.

Thanks for the reply.
I am booking from DUB purely on cost reasons but if I try a straight LHR-MIA it still won't book into z class and wants to give me D class for over £4000 return :0
Can only assume expertflyer is wrong about there being 8 z class available.Has anyone found it to be inaccurate?

Z fares are advance purchase fares - your flight is only next week - could that be the problem?
I can't remember what the cut off limit is, but have 14 days in my head ?| ?|

Hi Nick
Already checked that out on fare rules,7 day in advance for apex fare so if I book today I should be ok.
Since my last post it's showing as bookable in z class on ita matrix but now need to see if it will price that way in the real world.
Which site do you guys find gives the best bookable price to that shown on ita?

Thanks for the replies.
Looks like expertflyer was right as I have now managed to book the z class from LHR and I am a very happy bunny with the price I paid.
Bit inconvenient having to board at DUB when I live in NCL but the price differential made it a no brainer.
Regards
Gary.
