Flying LGW to Cancun on 7th June and return 17th June. Managed to get 6A & 6K both ways . Other half now wants to change to 10A & 10k going out. He wants to be close to the bar. Not sure if I want to be that close. What do other people think, had 8A & 8K last time .

10A & K are quite a long way apart as the aisle is quite wide at that point, so you won't easily be able to chat (unless you're happy for the rest of the cabin to join in!).
I'd persuade him to stick with row 6 - it's hardly a long walk to the bar!

I do wish that you could take the separator away in the middle seats, myself and the missus went Club World and picked the middle seats for a holiday (one way, not that rich!) so we could sit together.

Stick with 6A & 6K, good choice for a couple and just walk bar to the bar. The Bar only has 2 or is it 4 seats on LGW 744's so there may be some competition!

Personally I chose the front seats even though you don't get an overhead locker as they are close together. Otherwise I think I'd chose two on the same side.
The walk to the bar is a pleasure, not a chore.

Another 'stick' from the flatlands...

Had this experience too. We would have used the bar but a couple monopolised the bar and the cc's attention from the moment the seat belt sign went off until descent began. Being in 6A / K meant that at least we didn't have to listen to their undoubtedly inane conversation

. Worst thing was, they weren't flying UC on this flight - there'd been a very short notice double drop arranged and I presume they'd been in UC on the cancelled flight and negotiated use of the bar as part of taking a downgrade. Or perhaps someone was just taking the p@ss.

Also a vote to stick with 6A & 6K.
