Chauffeur service on a Z ticket????

Is it possible to get this?

I purchased a PE seat originally, and then upgraded to UC.

Looking today, I have paid the same price as the lowest fare currently available but they come with the chauffeur service.

A z fare unfortunately won't get you a CDC ,what's your route and price if you don't mind me asking ?

Z fares do not qualify for CDCs.

If the next fare code up (I) is coming in at the same price as your Z (which seems a bit odd tbh), it might be worth calling up to find out how much it would cost to move up - but there will be a fee.

I think as blacky is suggesting, if you are not too far away from the airport then it could be worth simply contacting VS and booking and paying for a CDC? Or you could just book and arrange with another company just remember to book your slot.

That's an interesting point - could that be cheaper than a cab fare?

Highly unlikely!

Not necessarily - remember a return fare that includes CDC entitles you to 4 limos, each up to 75 miles. 300 miles by cab wouldn't be cheap.

What I'm puzzled by is how a fare that entitles you to CDC - presumably I class - is coming in at the same price as a Z, particularly given there's currently a sale on which would only include Z but not I. I've never seen that before.

Although a very valid point graham in my poorly worded reply earlier I was trying to work out as gumshoe has asked how an upgrade to a Z is working out similar to an I fare ?|

Me also scratching head - Z's can change if on sale but it would be very odd for an I or higher to be less than a Z.

MAN to MCO return.

I paid £888.03 for PE. Then upgraded to UC for a further £608. Total price £1496.03.

My mistake on current fare prices though, I was looking at the lowest fare for the outbound journey, not the total for return :w

If you are on a G ticket,CDC is not included, but you can purchase CDC with miles, think its @ 17,500 miles one way

Ah, never mind. If £1496 had included a CDC there'd have been a stampede!

Which, quite frankly, is a rip-off when an upgrade from PE to UC - potentially saving hundreds of pounds - can be had for fewer miles than that.

If you've miles to burn, fine - but when you consider VS sell them for 1.5p, they're valuing what's essentially a glorified taxi at about £250.
