Clubhouse access on DL?

If I travel in Y on DL as a VS AU, am I allowed CH access?

I find the rules of the DL joint venture a bit baffling. ?|

Benefits with Dleta are explained on the VS website here -
http://www.virgin-atlantic.com/gb/en/fl ... unges.html

Entry to Delta Skyclubs as a VS gold when flying Y (must have a transatlantic sector to/from the UK on the same day within the itinerary, when travelling in Economy Class) but not the Clubhouses.

Thanks Nick.

That's how I read it too, but it doesn't seem logical to me. If I have DL status and I take that flight in Y, I get CH access. If I have VS status, I don't. So much for reciprocal benefits.

The more I think about this, the more I think it is strange. The situation for someone in Y is as follows:

fly VS with VS status - CH access
fly VS with DL status - CH access
fly DL with DL status - CH access

But

Fly DL with VS status - No CH access

It seems unfair!

Somebody has to be made to use the the Delta Lounges.

I know you're joking but that's exactly the point - there is no DL SkyClub in T3 (or at LHR -- T4 is a SkyTeam lounge). So you get nothing. As I said, so much for 'reciprocal'.

:| oops. Hadn't picked up on that. Still smarting from the reciprocity of the EK /QF lounges at Heathrow, but at these there is a Galleries in T3.

This is the most astonishing one to me. You don't need to be flying on VS metal, or have a UK routing, but get VS CH access as a DL elite? Or do you at least need a UK routing?

Even so, that VS holders don't get to use their own CH, but DL fliers can use either is a bit odd.

You need to be flying TATL on VS or DL to or from the UK.

Just to reiterate, there isn't a DL lounge as such in T3, unless I am going crazy. SkyTeam have an arrangement with the No. 1 lounge, I think. But VS doesn't.

It doesn't seem like a balanced arrangement.
