Hi folks,

I'm just sitting in the departures area in Mumbai waiting for VS 335 to open. I'm an Au card holder and just wondered if anyone knew if I can use the clipper lounge / shared lounge with a guest? Both of us are flying Virgin, premium economy. I'm an Au, guest is Ag.

Cheers,
Steve

Just to confirm for anyone else interested, yes you can take a guest in, although it is a very very small lounge with limited seating. It was heaving yesterday as was the flight home. Cabin crew were excellent however and we're still smiling after dealing with 267 passengers. A bit different to the 37 pax across all the cabins on the way out!

It seems loadings on the outbound flights to India are very light I was told they are 25% to Delhi at present. Outbound this week UC was under half full. However inbound flights are full, UC was overbooked on the return and they were looking for voluntary downgrades to PE- 45000 miles, free economy return ticket and refund of some of UC ticket- didnt pay much attention as it was of no interest.

Never seen a full outbound Indian flight to BOM or DEL myself, always rammed inbound. UC outbound I have seen full on 4/5 of the flights taken over last 2 years - must be high demand on UC here. UC was overbooked on my last flight inbound - and even were offering vouchers for next day in econ and PE. PE overbooked on flight before last inbound - Based on beeps at gate least 6 were op-ups to Upper including myself.

I think outbound some people may prefer the timings outbound from Jet (codeshare), but prefer VS back? That may explain the lower loadings outbound. VS's inbound timings are very useful - sleep on plane, arrive am, ready for office if flying in UC.

The reason for the low outbound numbers this and last week are apparently because its school holidays in India and secondly because its very hot out there at the moment, 40/41 every day, people are trying to get away from the heat.
