Future supersonic flights from Virgin

SRB was interviewed by CNBC today and hinted at supersonic planes giving a transit time for NYC to Tokyo of less than an hour!!!

Interview here

He seems a bit set upon by the show's hosts but it is an interesting vision for the future of commercial air travel.

There is also another paragraph and interview segment a little further down the page where he goes on to talk about airline investing and some future plans for VX flying into Dallas..... a tad optimistic given how large SouthWest are in the region, fingers crossed for them though.

I did love the SouthWest line on how 'competition is not necessarily good for the consumer' ha ha ha ha. :o) Funny people.

Not really Darren..... economically speaking it is all a matter of pyramid science..... slowly but surely :w

I have had a gander at some of the science behind the up and over LHR to SYD travel...... there is still a fair distance to go before it comes to anything. Sorry fella 8D

Common Hamster..... it's better to look toward the future than WW's approach of 'lets see what happens'.... yep, paraphrasing slightly :P

Probably a better state of mind than my drunken slurrings last night. Have had to go back through my posts this morning correcting spelling mistakes.... Autocorrect was not my friend last night :|

You might equally ask, what is the point of Michael O'Leary talking about paying a quid to go to the loo, or installing 'standing seats'.

I'm sure it's nothing to do with trying to get free publicity... :w

I believe that VX will take over some of the AA/US slots at Dallas Love Field significantly expanding the Dallas service.

"...Branson said, declining to provide specifics"

As if he would ever do such a thing !

Branson is an expert at getting free press. Nobody will hold him accountable for making this projection - so it's pure profit in his mind (i.e. free press).
