Cost of Extra Legroom Seat v Seat Request

Hi all
New to the forums, and I have a question around reserving seats.
I am due to fly VS73 on the 6th of September so believe i will be able to select seats on 25th June. My question is: Extra Legroom seats are quoted at £30, yet reserving a seat is £25; which seems to make the extra legroom seats ridiculously good value if it really does only work out at an extra £5 each way, have i missed something or is it as simple as that?
Thanks

We are on the 75 on 5th Sep. I booked extra leg room seats a few weeks back at £25 each way, so £150 in total for three of us.
I don't think we can choose the exact seat numbers until check in although the extra leg room seats are between rows 39-42 and only at the sides. You can check the location on the seat maps on the virgin website

My understanding is that the £25 fee lets you choose your seat preference, ensuring your sat with travelling companions in a specific seat on the aircraft. The £30 extra legroom fee means you should fly in one of the extra legroom rows, but doesn't guarantee exactly which one. I guess for that you'd need to pay both charges.

That is exactly how I understand it also.
If you want specific seats, standard or extra leg room, you have to pay the £25 fee, in addition to the cost of the extra legroom or exit row seats.
