Good Morning from the Gatwick Clubhouse

After an impromptu V Flyer get together last night in the Gatwick Hilton (that being Smid, Nottingham Nick and important other halves) I now find myself in the Gatwick Clubhouse

A whole new experience for me as for the first time I am being accompanied by a 9 and 7 year old and I am starting to realise the challenges involved ): Thankfully the Wii is keeping them amused for the time being - not to mention a former Arsenal Football player who they saw at Check In who appears to be travelling PE on our flight

Hi Buns

Hope you have a great flights without any hitches.

The weather here (since we arrived on Saturday) has been really warm - mid to high 90's with everything pretty busy due to Memorial Weekend but I guess it should quieten down today a little.

If you fancy a beer (a little peace ): ) give me a shout. We are at Saratoga Springs opposite downtown Disney so pretty central

Buns:

Good luck!

Buy alcohol in duty free. :D

When travelling with small people it takes far longer to do anything except eat so set off far earlier than you & Mrs Buns would have done.

Children will not be interested in the handbag shops that Mrs Buns & I would be so be grateful for small mercies ;)

Ensure that you have fully charged anything that requires power plus an extra supply of batteries for all the items not reliant on being charged.

Allow them whatever their parents have banned them from having/doing/wearing/buying.

Return to duty free & stock up on your favourite alcohol. y)

Take a stack of photos because before you know it, they'll be the age to be embarrassed by any photo of a previous age except their own selfies taken within the past week.

Enjoy every moment, be their age, enjoy looking at all that you are doing through their eyes.

Promise yourself your daily reward is the duty free you bought. ;)

Have fun.

I'm looking forward to your TR!

ROFLMAO @ Roxy Popsy's comments!

Buns - have a great time in the CH and on your trip, I don't envy you traveling with little people though so I hope you cope well :)

Buns - as David said the weather here has been really nice, few thunderstorms yesterday late on but nothing to worry about. MK was actually very quiet yesterday, we went in abound 1800, and it was not busy at all, even managed to get seats on the grassed VIP area for Wishes !

Shame we are going back tomorrow would've been nice to catch up.

Oh and if you need a lift from the airport after following RP's advice give me a shout :-)

Hey Buns! Hope that the CH visit was maxed out and that the 2 young people did not hinder the mission ): Also wishing you a great holiday after what was, hopefully, an amazing flight y) y)

Ah the day has finally arrived, I received scrutiny from Buns on my tip reports last August in preparation for travelling with young uns so it's been a well researched trip! Or perhaps 10 months of nervous anticipation. Looking forward to seeing how they got on although Clubhouse is an excellent start!

Thank you all for such kind comments oo)

It turns out that there were plenty of photos taken as the boys met a former England football player in the Clubhouse and needless to say were proud to be snapped :D Later on board there was a former Arsenal player and again snaps taken - on this occasion, the fact they could boast to cousins was foremost in their minds :w

Oh, did I mention that I managed to surprise Mum, Dad and the boys with the Upgrade to Upper which they had no idea about until they were on board

Buns,

As always, late to the thread, but have a great break.

It doesn't seem 5 minutes since you were last in the LGW CH,, the staff there must never have to ask what drinks you want!

Lovely touch keeping upgrades a surprise, it must have been really rewarding to see the reaction.

Have fun,
