Upper class reward out and PE Revenue return

Hi - quick question for a guru!

I know you can now book a one way reward (in UC) and buy a one way return rev ticket in PE, does anyone know what the fare class is for the revenue PE ticket and does it earn miles and TP's?

many thanks

Andrew

The revenue PE sector will earn you miles and TP.

The revenue part of a combi fare is booked in the lowest fare class available at time of booking so usually a K.

Hi there,

As far as I'm aware and according to the VS website you cannot book a Combi Flight including an UC sector only PE/E.

Hi Dom,

It's not worded the greatest (surprise surprise) but you can book an upper class sector on points and pay cash for either a premium or economy return.

Am on one of these trips at the moment.

The revenue economy or PE leg can be in any fare class you want - it doesn't have to be the cheapest.

So if you want to use miles to upgrade to UC on that leg, you can buy an M or S fare.

Last year I booked an UC reward out to LAX and returned UC on a revenue Z. So UC both ways on a combi.

I've used combi fares for family members a few times. If memory serves me right you cannot technically upgrade the revenue sector to UC regardless of revenue fare codes as it then becomes a G fare and so both legs are then classed as reward fares and it's no longer a combi fare ( if that makes sense). ?|

Just checked the T&C's and you can upgrade the revenue part of the combi fare providing you have bought an upgradable fare code.

T&C's are here - rule 4.5 m

Thanks for that Neil - useful to see it in black and white in the T+Cs.
