Going to Orlando next March/April but notice upper fares are really expensive at the moment. Despite there being an offer to buy more miles reward availability is non existent. Anyone got a crystal ball to see if there will be a sale on fares after the current sale ends which is only upto Sept 14 or reward availability will increase Thanks :)

There will undoubtedly be more sales over the next few months. But there's no guarantee your preferred route & dates will be included.

March/April to MCO? Depending on your exact dates you could be looking at peak Easter holiday time therefore they're very unlikely to be included in any sale. Before or after the school holidays, maybe.

There are only 14 UC seats on each MCO flight so reward availability is very, very limited. It does exist but it's hard to find so you just have to keep checking and hope.

Are you also aware of 'black out' periods? I have recently been pricing up fares to LAS and although our preferred dates fall outside of the Easter holidays VS extended their 'black out' dates a week past the school holidays. This meant zero chance of reward seats (again UC on this route is seriously limited at the best of times) and also no FC discount.

I've ended up biting the bullet and just paying for it, I am safe in the knowledge that I've got 2 x UC seats and it's only money at the end of the day...... Sob, sob......

I got4 G returns to Boston out on 1st April and back on 11th- no blackout dates at all- I could have had any dates. But I did book each way on the date they became available.

If it were me I'd look at BA Business.
I think their offer extends until May 2015 about £1500 each.

Reward seats do come up on the MCO flight with VS but it is impossible to judge when they will be made available.
When I booked for next Feb the outbound upgrade was easy as each day that passed one more day was on offer until my day came up. However the homebound is a very random affair with lots of days missing as it slowly progresses. And of course it's the day I want that hasn't come up. Sometimes there's one flight to and from MCO sometimes there are two I'm hoping there will be a second flight home with a fresh offer of rewards.

If I'd known about the BA offer I may well have tried them for one trip.

I'd also add BA business can be had ex-BRU or AMS for for less sometimes. The ITA matrix tool from google can be used to find such deals ;)

That said, I'm playing the VS game at moment, awaiting some dates in May '15 for a holiday on G's. Will book as PE initially (better availability) and switch as G's (hopefully) arrive.

The ex AMS option works a treat with VS too. I've just had a great experience booking (via Opodo) VS 43/44 to/from Vegas. They pair it with BA Club Europe on the ex AMS leg. I saved a staggering £2300 on the two tickets compared to buying a couple of Z's direct from VA.
