Hi

Does anyone have any idea as to the retirement schedule for the vs 343 ? I know G-VAIR left the fleet in March, so just wondering which will be the next one to go and when? In the past few days I have seen no activity from VFAR, which could suggest it is being prepped for withdrawal, could anyone correct me on this please? Also does anyone know which type of aircraft will be assigned to the 343 routes such as YVR and ORD in the interim period between the 343 retirement and the delivery of the new 789 ?

Any info would be much appreciated

Thanks

in my understanding it was going to be later this year but i would say not till next year now, as my MMB for my flight next spring is showing aircraft type as a 343.
in terms of taking over the YVR route my bet would be on the 346s.

The A343s are being retired this and next year. VFAR is scheduled to go in September and as this is owned by Virgin I'm guessing it's a fluidic date. They may have moved it forward because of the extra aircraft they have due to the SYD route stopping.

The Vancouver is due to go on the 333.

I'm wondering what the SFO, the LA and the MIA will go on once the Jumbos are gone? A346 or B787?

Presumably 787's as the 346's will also be leaving the fleet by 2018.

So the LHR fleet will be 787/330 only for the foreseable future after 747/346 retirements.

ORD & YVR are planned 330 for next summer.

As far as I'm aware the 747 retires by early '16 so am I wondering if it'll be 787 straight away or A346 for a while before they all go.

Personally I think they will order 5 777 or 787-1000 for capacity.
