hi can anybody help looking to fly out may next year to orlando vs15 out vs16 back. looking to book PE both ways, theres 5 of us can you recommend where is best for us to sit together, 2 adults 3 children, also which aircraft should we expect

If you click the menu item "The Toolbox" up above, and then "Which Aircraft?".. you'll get an idea what sort of plane to expect.

And then you can do to "Seat Maps & Ratings".. and have a look at the seat layouts, and any seat reviews for good or bad seats.

Do a dummy booking on Virgin website, it will tell you what aircraft it might be.

It's the Jumbo to and from Orlando all the time now.

I would suggest downstairs in W. Upper deck is in 2s and there are 5 of you.

I'd go for downstairs row 19. A to F
First off the plane (a real bonus sometimes at MCO) and no one behind you kicking your seat.
F is maybe a bit near the toilet, which does get quite a bit of use from Economy passengers.

thanks for your help i've always sat upstairs in PE now i see economy now up there as well. hard choice to where to sit as 5 of us

Be guided by the help on here and back that up with looking at seatguru if you are in any doubt.

you generally won't be able to tell which aircraft specifically that it will be until 24 hours before but it can even change hours before due to operational reasons however you are almost guaranteed to have LGW1 seat config which can be found in the toolkit or you can use the which aircraft option which can help also.

I would say downstairs for way out upstairs on return, although upstairs is a 2 - 2 config for pe and downstairs is a 2 4 2 config.

I'm getting some great help regarding family of 5 booking seats together in PE TO ORLANDO IN MAY 2015, upper deck rows 20 C H K AND 21 H K OR DOWNSTAIRS ROW 19 A THROUGH TO F, anybody experienced these seats with a family?

I'm sure that either would be fine. To be honest there's not a great deal of difference between seats/rows in PE. It's such a small cabin all seats are fairly peaceful. Just be aware of what is near toilets or galleys of you're sensitive to that sort of thing. The PE seat is great, enjoy!

I wouldn't go row 19 right across personally. I love 19AC, but wouldn't want any of the middle seats as they are too close to the toilet door opening for my liking.

Our would however try and go for another row downstairs if available as I think it is the better option compared to the upper deck, plus one member of your party doesn't have to sit on their own.

Not necessarily - the downstairs cabin is 2-4-2, so you could book the 2 window seats and then 3 of the middle 4.

I'm a litte confused if you have booked your holiday or not. But some dates to help are:

If you book after 25th June you should be able to request your seats the day you book up to 336 days before your departure.

If you have already booked your holiday you can request your seats after 25th June (assuming 21st May is less than 336 days away).

Thanks were booked to go on May 21st 2015, so I can on the 25th of this month? Confusing

By my calculations 21st May 2015 is 330 days from 25th June 2014.

Which means you are less than the 336 days allowed. So yes, on 25th June (at 8am) you should be able to request your seats. You will need your 6 digit reference. If you log in before this, the seats should show but you can't request them. But if you want to see the layout of the plane, it's a good time to have a quick look.

Just be mindful that 25th June is a big day on here where nearly every VFlyer with a flight booked will be scrambling to request a seat (unless they've been able to do it already).

Thanks for your help, will be ready on the 25th June but will try before then, how can I get my virgin reference number before that date? tried virgin holidays didn't seem very helpful.

You need to have the 6 digit reference to log in, without it you won't be able to MMB (manage my booking).

Ring Virgin Holidays and ask them for it, explain it's the 6 digit code for use on the Virgin Atlantic site to enable you to MMB.

A booking reference is a unique code specific to an individual reservation. It is also known as a Record/Booking Locator (or RecLoc), PNR Code, confirmation number or reference number. It can be found on your tickets, confirmation invoice or travel documentation.

Virgin Atlantic's booking reference is a six digit alphanumeric combination. E-tickets issued by Virgin Atlantic list this as a 'Booking Reference', which can be found on the e-ticket receipt under 'Ticket numbers & Endorsements'. The number starts with 932 and is 13 digits long. Tickets issued by Virgin Atlantic will contain this code in the PNR Code box near the centre of the ticket.

When checking in online: If you have used a middle name(s) when making your booking, you will need to add these to your first name in order to retrieve your booking.

For example, John Robert Smith would be entered as:

First Name(s): JohnRobert
Surname: Smith

We also accept booking reference numbers issued by most travel agents. These appear as a six digit alphanumeric combination usually listed in your travel documentation, or available from your travel agent upon request.

If you have purchased any holiday from Virgin Holidays, the reference can be found under "Airline Booking Reference". This can be found at the top of your holiday invoice.

If you cannot locate your reference or are having difficulty, please contact our call centre on 0844 209 7310.

If you get it now, you will be able to log in and see all sorts of info but the seat map will be unavailable. Might be an idea to get it and enter all the required info (passport etc).

Hi thanks again for your advice, just spoke to virgin holidays still not very helpful with PNR CODE they said won't get it until the 21st May, is this right?

No that's not correct.

When I go with Virgin Holidays I usually get the reference a week or so after I have booked the holiday.

Try the telephone number in that info I gave you.

Do you have a 7-digit numerical Virgin Hols booking reference? If so, log in to Virgin Hols 'Manage My Booking' area and from there you can download a PDF of your invoice/itinerary - at the top, to the right of your address will be an 'airline booking reference'; that is what you need to use to log in to Virgin atlantic's MMB system. Hope that's helps
