Still 25th June for requesting seats?

I have read on another forum that the 25th June date for being able to request seats for 60 day plus flights and new bookings may have slipped again, and that the 60 day rule will remain in force for the foreseeable.

Do any of you experts know what the current situation is please?

Haven't heard a thing but it is Virgin's IT department of mystery we are talking about. If June 25th remains firm, count me rather amazed.

I hope it remains 25th June but rumours abound that it may be changed yet again.

Also I am not convinced that Virgin's IT system will be equal to the strain on the day. It will be a giant stress test. :0

Was told 25th on phone to upper class line today. I have 2 seats (hopefully in nose of a 747 to LAX) to reserve.

I'm still not convinced that outside of members of this site there is a huge pent up demand for seat allocation. 6.5 days after the booking window appeared for my flight in the summer there are still only the same 4 seats assigned in UC. I have a private bet with myself that this will still be the case when the seat map becomes available for my return flight in 4.5 days....

Certainly the last time we had this with the refit I was there at the earliest possible time, but checking back later to make sure nothing untoward had happened, it was still very empty in the cabin.

I spoke with FC last night to change some reward flights for November, and asked the agent if the 25th was still the date or would it slip again.

The agents comments were that the whole seat assignment thing has been seen as an absolute disaster, and whilst it is scheduled still for the 25th no one there would be surprised if it slipped again. the agent also said that they are expecting absolute chaos when it does go live and advised me not to ring them that day unless it was an emergency, and not to expect the online booking system to stand up to the requests.

Nice to have confidence in your own systems :D

I guess they are completely fed up with the whole thing, having received many a tongue lashing from their customers.

At a slight tangent: does anyone know why the LHR-NRT route is exempt from these changes?
