As BA have just finished their Sale - which somewhat surprisingly VS did match

, I am inclined to say "Not in the near future".
But then again, never say never

They usually do a sale around the late-august bank holiday IIRC. I hope they do some sale fares to MCO soon as I'm looking to book for January - annoyingly although VS matched the BA sale price they didn't cover the same dates as the BA sale, which ran through January next year.

Yep, late august, early september is what I'm banking on, tend to be when I book for the following easter hols. It's a logical sale time, everyone going back to work depressed after the summer and looking for an excuse to book the next holiday!

In which case as a business that's the time I wouldn't have a sale....

Ah yes, but people will be thinking of the money spent on the holiday they just came back from, paying off the credit cards etc... so the sale is the incentive needed to keep flights shifting over that period...

and yet they DO it every year just before the Bank Holiday weekend.
So it must work for them (and all the others who do the same)

Xmas is the other VH/VS deal time - we booked for this Feb boxing day - for a price £300 less than the day before - as we guessed they were going to be doing it. My trick is I check the flight pricing using the price engines over year, so know the "normal cheapest fare" and take advantage when can book below that.
My wife is wanting a 4 holiday year this year (we've got 3 booked). Wallet is straining, but I'm awaiting same sale - as I'll need to get her out to Florida to combine with a work trip for me for it to be possible, so I don't have to pick up 2 tatl tickets on the last one.

BA sale just commenced "the world is on sale"
VS usually follow immediately --- however last few times VS have reduced fares to match BA but not published the fact

As above (International Hitman) it would appear the there is a BA sale on...
I have just gone online and booking with them would have offered me a £300 discount vs. VH..! On flights its also cheaper...
Any advise, on the phone to customer service now - but they are saying they wont price match.

I've just checked the VS website (incredibly slow at the moment) and it looks like they've matched some of the BA sale offers, eg Caribbean, Africa and Asia routes (the US low fares have "book by" dates of tomorrow so I wonder if they will run new offers after tomorrow?)
Not all appear to be advertised on their homepage but if you go to destinations/low fares, you might find some bargains. Worth checking anyway.
Of course the website is crashing an awful lot, so some patience is required...

VS seem to be matching BA on Economy and PE to MCO, no sign of a UC price match though

What is the price difference - is it significant..?

BA will have an august CW sale- they always do. Virgin will follow them. Dont panic- hold your nerve.

Good call Barnaby100 - will the sale impact VS PE flight prices - looking to upgrade through VH but waiting for the best time.
Any ideas V-Flyers?

Unfortunately it's impossible to say.
BA and VS have many sales each year, for all the various cabins - but they never cover all routes and all dates.
The current BA sale, for example, apparently doesn't include Business or First, or any US destinations apart from LAS.
So if you decide to hold out for a sale you may get lucky - or you may find your chosen route and date hasn't been discounted and what's more the price has actually gone up from when you first looked. That's the gamble you take.
That's why we always say on V-Flyer if you see a price you're happy with, go for it and never check back.

Indeed - at the moment the upgrade (LGW to MCO) from ECO to PE is £1,000 for a pair.
I though this seemed a bit much, what would you set as a benchmark?
