V-Flyer

Hi,
Driving to LHR to pick up daughter & boyfriend who will be flying down from Edinburgh. They have hand luggage only. I don't want to park at the airport, but will wait till they are off the plane then hopefully drive up and pick them up. Does anybody know a convenient place at Terminal 1 where I can pick them up?.

Currently the Little Red Flights into Heathrow T1 bring you through to the upper level (after going through the baggage area).

I would advise if you are picking them up to get them to call you and you pick them up at the T1 Departure Drop Off on the first floor. There are plently of police about so do not even think about waiting there.

Buns, Thanks for the quick reply. I intend to wait just down the road on the A4 until they are ready for pick up. I thought departures was the best place, but just wanted it confirming from a more savvy traveler than myself. Tim.

I can second what buns just said, having done exactly that on Sunday (our taxi pick-up was late, so asked us to wait for him at drop-off). Can confirm it's the same level (1st floor).

I would add that the A4 also has a presence, and that many a mini cab can be found at a drive through McDonalds on the Bath Road

That mcdonnalds is where I wait whenever I am required to collect my family from LHR, I always get them to call when they have their bags wait a few moments and then collect them from outside T3 departures.
