V-Flyer

Not a hugely important question or topic, granted, but something that has been perplexing me for some time now!

I do enjoy a fine cognac, and often treat myself to a (usually) bottle of Remy XO (or above) at the duty free when flying, and always used to look forward to a Remy (even VSOP) when flying VA or BA (UCS or CW).

For the passed few years now they have dispensed with Remy and are now offering Otards 'fine' cognac in the premium cabins, something in my opinion that is somewhat inferior and of less taste/quality than Remy. Even in the Concorde Lounge in T5 when flying F, the waitress in their dining room was somewhat embarrassed by offering me Otards, advising that she had no idea why they offered this brand and not Remy (or the like, perhaps Courvosier), and she had had many enquiries into this.

I think from memory last time when flying BA in F, I asked for a CW (or was it WT?P) small bottle of Courvosier VS which I preferred to Otards.

Am I alone in this preference, and was it a cost thing, or a general 'Otards is best' thing?

As I said, trivial subject, but one that had been 'troubling' me, without really knowing why!

I quite agree, it's not very good at all. But hey #firstworldproblem eh!

Just as a matter of interest, EK serves Hennessy XO in J and Hennessy Paradis in First.

Its all a matter of preference though, I for one prefer Otard

Similarly, I was very disappointed when I flew UC MAN/MCO last November and the standard of wines on offer could be bought for around $8-$12 per bottle in Walmart. Having said that they did complement very poor quality of food - Cottage Pie in UC!
I understand that UC ex LHR is better but why?
