V-Flyer

Does anyone use this? When check-in opens for my flight I wont be able to be near a PC and printer. Having an iphone I am hoping to be able to check in on my mobile and use the Passbook app.

My question is my girlfriend doesn't have an iphone (she's on the android side) so will I be able to check us both in and access our boarding passes using just my phone?

Yep I use it quite a bit, doing well so far

Last Xmas I used it for myself and my folks coming back from JFK, same booking so it was easy to load all three onto my phone.

Thanks Joey thats great all I will need is a decent 4G signal should be near LHR at the time of check in so shouldn't be a problem

Your girlfriend should be able to use mobile boarding pass on her android phone, you don't have to have passbook it's just an option. Virgin will email her the boarding pass which she just needs to open up and display on the screen.

I LURVE passbook. I used to be a bit worried about it in case I ran out of battery or something, but given that you now need to have your devices charged at an airport for security, there doesn't seem to be much excuse to not use it, eh?

I also admire the ticket design itself, with that beautiful skeuomorphic ticket stub across the top.

I used my android this weekend as I was up in Scotland at an address with no internet I had to do it all from the phone. It was a bit fiddly but OK.
On the journey up I used the computer and just ticked the send me an SMS box.
Just make sure you have a decent time-out set on the phone when you retrieve your boarding pass.

Paper boarding passes still exist?

The VS passbook BP is really good and easy to use. Once you get used to it, its so much easier and less fiddly. I like the BA and Easyjet ones but pretty much all airlines have them now as the only paper one I have now is when I have to use Ryanair once a month but hopefully they will get with the times this summer with their new app.
