V-Flyer

Tried to do online check in this morning but it will not accept one of our party of four, my youngest son (aged 12). Any reason for this that people know of or is it just random?

Don't want to lose our seats!

Some one on trip advisor had the same problem last week, some people said it was because of the age of the passenger (being under 16) not sure if this was correct but it may be the issue, quick call to Virgin will answer your question...

Children often seem to have problems with OLCI. But there are other possibilities - an issue with API or ESTA, for instance, or he's one of a small proportion of passengers randomly selected for extra security checks.

I'd get to the airport as early as you can.

API and ESTA all fine.

I'm sure we had the same problem with him last time we flew with Virgin. Clearly a trouble maker.

After three lengthy calls to Virgin it's finally sorted. Virgin staff couldn't have been more helpful. Initially baffled but eventually they got it to work. There seems to have been some issue over age and a 'service flag' that no-one seemed to understand. Finally they just deleted the service flag and all was fine.

Hopefully we won't have the same problem on return.

Ahem, just the small matter of telling us where you are going! Can't see it on the plane icon as it's returning a blank for me.

If you really want to know, we are off to Las Vegas tomorrow. Touring the canyons, etc., Death Valley, Mammoth, Yosemite and San Francisco. Returning SFO-LHR in three week time.
