Hi all

Travelling on the VS95 and Sunday and I was just wondering, do they have the new(ish) safety video on the non AVOD equipped A/C ? I would love to see the new video in action, but I have heard a few reports that only manual demos are used on the A343s. Can anyone enlighten me?

Any info would be much appreciated.

The new safety video features on all aircraft IFE systems. As long as it is in working order then you should see the video demonstration. Would only be manual if it didn't work or from the 26th to the end of every month.

I was on a A343 on the VS45 in May (lucky me!) and can confirm that the new safety video was used on that service.

How come they do a manual demonstration from the 26th-31st?

I'm guessing it's a regulation that has to be carried out every month

I flew on an A340-300 yesterday, and I didn't see any video demonstration. My screen didn't come on to show the demo if there was one. There was a manual one done though.

Crew have to do a manual demo from 26th to 31st each month so they are doing it on a regular basis to keep in practice for the occasions when the video doesn't work

They don't need to wait till the end of the month.
Did a quick return to YVR last month on one of the said aircraft and they did a manual demo both times. Someone had forgotten to wind up the IFE apparently and it did not work!
