whooo hooo, seats booked!

Hi all

So excited....seats booked at bang on T60 - seat map was open before 8am but couldn't reserve them.

Unsurprisingly I have the full cabin to choose from (apart from 8G) booked 5 & 6K on a340-600, hope they are a good choice, I've tried to do my homework beforehand!

My only concern is that every review I've read recently has slated UC, comments like its a coffin, far to hot, no elbow room, seat hard etc etc, I just hope they are reviews from very picky travellers and that's not reality for us (first time in UC).

Counting down now book return seats!

We have requested 4 & 5k for our trip to LA on 2nd October on the 340 and 8G was also blocked off, wonder why that is?

This will be our third time in UC and can,t wait again.

We are fairly big people in height and width so we do fill the seats, although they are a million times better than PE. They are a bit claustrophobic and it did get very hot, so bring a change of clothes say shorts and tee, it helped us. Once you are on board you can change in the loo, anything goes , you see all sorts of styles from the full lot of jewellery and designer to downright scruffy. As long as you are comfy that's the main thing, and if your destination is hot then you will be suitably attired. Linda

8G is the designated bassinet seat so is held back in case it's needed by a passenger with a baby.

VA UC is well worth it, given all the little niggles I have read I know where I would rather be sitting.
Enjoy

Wow, thanks for all your replies...I've been at work all day so haven't had time to log on!

Hubby tends to wear shorts on flights now n I'm the cold one so sounds like we'll be just fine.

Do you think it'll be frowned upon if we take a Boots meal deal on board?, long story but hubby has to eat little and often rather than have one big meal... I've told him to just nibble the graze menu thingy but he's insisting on his butty!

I can honestly say I've never had a 'bad' upper class or come to think of it PE flight with VS and wouldn't consider booking with anyone else for my trips across the pond !

Not at all - assuming it's cold food that is, as I don't know whether they'd heat anything that's not supplied on board.

Remember as well as the graze menu there's also a selection of crisps, sweets, chocolate and fruit on the bar once the meal service is out the way. If they remember ...

5&6K is a good choice and I'm sure also that you'll love UC. We did on our first flight with VS last year and we've not looked back.

You'll be fine taking a butty on board I'm sure but believe me your hubby won't have a problem if he needs to eat little and often. He can always ask to have his starter or dessert put aside for later, plus there'll be cheese board after main meal, then graze menu and depending on flight afternoon tea or breakfast, plus fruit at the bar. The CC will look after him.

Where are you flying? And remember we like trip reports...

We're off to LA, haven't been there for a few years so we're excited be returning in style!.

I'll tell him about the food options and let him decide on what to do.
He took quite ill on a flight a while ago and the cabin crew were great, in fact he had 2 A&E doctors looking after him so the cc looked after me....We stopped flying to the west coast after that but the pull to go back is too strong so hoping the UC experience will be the icing on the cake

:D

And instead of the boots Sarnie why not take some stuff from the deli in the CH y)
