They took two months to arrive, but here they are: two Clubhouse passes for use in any of the Clubhouses, anywhere, any time!

I thought you might like to see the packaging. Quite nicely done, I thought:

Now, if you're really, really nice to me...

So quick question.....
Did you have to call and ask to redeem these or were they sent out automatically?? My year renews in November and I never received anything (tear filled eyes.......)

They are awarded when 60TPs are earned in the year. Mine have always appeared after the membership year ends. Guessing NYLON's 'year' ended in July. |:)

Mine have always appeared when I have reached 60TPs, just takes about a couple of weeks for them to be issued from past experience - never had to wait until my membership year has ended.

Really like this packaging, I think it goes a long way to show what VS are trying to achieve with their new branding. Hopefully when it all ties in together (web, uniform, planes etc) we'll be all 'ooooohing' at everything.

Very impressive - the packaging, the contents and the awesome number of flights (and time away from home and family) that this reflects. y)

My 'year' renewed in April/May, and I must have got to the 60TP mark some time before that. So when mid-June came around, and the passes hadn't arrived, I called up FC and they said, "they all get posted in a batch towards the end of the month. You should receive them in the first week of July, as you're in NYC."

When, ahem, mid-July came around and still nothing, I called up FC and they said, er, "they all get posted in a batch towards the end of the month. You should receive them in the first week of August, as you're in NYC."

For those of you haven't nodded off by now, when (yawn), mid-August came around etc., etc. (i.e. two days ago); this time, however, the gentleman at FC seemed shocked, as if this were the worst ever possible customer service crime known to humanity.

"Leave it with me," he said.

An hour later he phoned back and explained that they had indeed been posted out back in June, but had clearly not arrived. He said they could get them to me wherever I was in the world in the next two days. So I gave him my current address (in that exotic part of the world called London, in fact), and they arrived today.

I asked him what I should do with the other two passes, should they turn up in NYC.

"Oh, I'd use them too, if I were you..."

All NYLON's "friends" please form an orderly queue, no fighting now, behave in a seemly manner...

Thanks for that. 60TP's were passed last May and nothing has every arrived. Just shows I should read more, I guess you had to ask for them when you wanted to give them away!!! LOL

Exactly! A friend mentioned they were flying VS later this month, and I offered her a pass, only to remember that I didn't physically have one on me...

I'd give FC a call. Hopefully you'll get the same chap to whom I spoke, and you'll receive your passes within 48 hours!

lol, @whiterose! If I end up with any unused passes as the expiry date draws near (they last a year), I'll be sure to make them available on v-flyer!

Wow, ok... I'm currently sitting on 54 and will be hitting the 60TP mark before my renewal in Nov. Let's see if they show up before then.

They're definitely issued when you hit the threshold, not at the end of the membership year. (Well, they should be...)

The passes are nice - but the real value is in the next threshold, the two upgrades from any fare type, return.

Used my last ones on upgrading a PE (S) + a PE companion fare to two Upper Class returns to Sydney. That was a cheap way of getting there thanks to the TP level gift!

From memory, I ended up giving two of my clubhouse passes to some random bloke in Hull ): :P the other year as I would never have used them.

The next threshold is a really good perk, has got me to and from LAX a couple of times which was a great cheap way to/from there in UC. I usually give my passes away to be honest...... y)

The clubhouse passes I have already for this year (membership year ends in February 2015) are already assigned to a friend travelling to LAX next month.

I've used the 80TP upgrades before (I think it was for PE to UC, LHR-JFK). I know they are only valid for upgrading one cabin class at a time (i.e. you can't go from Economy to UC), but what I can't remember is whether the original tickets need to be in a particular fare bucket (i.e. W or S in PE), and similarly whether there needs to be G availability in UC. Do you happen to know?

Yes, indeed, I have no use for the passes myself, but they're a nice gift for someone else, I think. I also thought the packaging was quite nice!

Very nice, if only I was able to fly more than once a year, but those are a very nice gift

Nope - that's the beauty of them, it can be from ANY fare class y)

Brilliant, thanks preiffer.

And does there need to be availability *into* any specific fare class?

i.e. If there are free UC seats, do they have to be 'G', or does it work not only *from* any fare class but *into* any fare class (assuming a one cabin upgrade, say, from PE to UC)?
