V-Flyer

This might be a quirk of VS IT (and I wouldn't be surprised if it were); the date attached to my mileage bookings when they post in my FC account seems randomly assigned to either:

a) the date on which I made the booking (i.e. when I phoned up, or booked online), or

b) the date on which the reward flight is due to take place.

The bookings themselves are all above board and seem correct, but their corresponding entries in my FC account seem randomly assigned, as detailed above.

Is there some reason for this that anyone can discern, or it just one of those, er, beautiful quirks we know and love?

I have an upgraded flight booked for next year and my FC account shows the flying dates for the miles deducted. Yet the miles have gone off the account.

The miles always go (disappear!) immediately, but the date assigned to the transaction can be one of the two I detail.

For example, I have a personal trip coming up in January, booked as two one-way mileage redemptions. I made both bookings this month, a few days a apart.

In both instances, the miles were taken out of my account immediately. I've double-checked the booking references, and all is correct.

However, the outward journey has a FC posting date which matches the date of travel (January), whereas the return journey has a FC posting date which matches the date I made the booking (August).

Made a booking yest and it's the dates of the flights they've used next to the miles deductions

For my booking earlier this week it's also the dates of the actual flights for the deducted miles.

Same for me with reward flights booked last week for Travel in May 2015

I think I might have worked it out:

My reward flights post to my FC account showing the date of travel. Reward flights I have booked on behalf of someone else post to my FC account showing the date I made the redemption. In both cases, as expected, the miles come off the account immediately.
