LGW-LAS Questions

Hi everyone, in 17 days we're off to Vegas. We've never flown out of LGW with VS before so I have a few questions:

At LGW do they have 2 jet bridges for boarding like LHR? Or will it be a scrum to board via 1? If it's 1 jet bridge is priority boarding well managed?
When we arrive at LAS what door do we disembark from? We're in upper, do they use the door in between UC and PE(L1?) or EC and PE(L2?)? If L2 is used does PE get off first or are there 2 jet bridges?
Thanks in advance for any replies
Darren

Hi Ultreeem

At Gatwick there is only one air bridge which attaches to the Aircraft (both 747 and 330) at L2.

The staff at the Gatwick Clubhouse are pretty good at calling you at the correct time, and it is often the case that by the time Mrs Buns and I arrive at the Gate Room most of the passengers have boarded.

Have a great flight and time in Vegas

In LAS all pax depart through door L2, so the downstairs PE cabin will be the first off followed by UC.

At LAS, unless things have changed since VS moved to the new terminal, everyone disembarks through L2 via one airbridge. So PE pax get off before UC due to the configuration of the cabin.

And as buns says, in my experience at LGW (and LHR) they tend to make the boarding call in the Clubhouse after most others have got on, so UC and Au pax can maximise their time in the lounge while avoiding the scrum at the gate.

Per Buns' experience, on our flight from LGW a couple of weeks back when we we arrived at the gate following the call in the Clubhouse there was no queue at all at the gate and only a few folk on the jetbridge.

So no chance at all to shout "I'm flying Upper Class, let me through".... :w

The CH team at LGW are fantastic at calling you at the right time so no issues even though only one air bridge at L2.

I have always left at LAS from UC at L2....however.....The last couple of times I have boarded at LAS through L1 into UC - half-way down the airbridge it separates, which is clearly marked and a member of staff is usually stood there too, so J board at L1 and W & Y board at L2.

Enjoy Vegas!

Jon

Thanks for all the fast replies.
So good to hear I can "maximise" my time in the clubhouse and avoid the scrum...another glass of fizzy fermented grape juice to pass the time!
Thanks Jon, that's good to know at LAS before boarding.

Damn, that's my favorite bit with the DYKWIA glare and boarding card thrust in everyone's face for good measure! y) (I am kidding btw! Lol)

I guess it'll be a scrum to get off the plane instead...

I'm a Vegas virgin and I'm sure I'll enjoy! y)

We tend to join the scrum, bag an overhead locker on board as we like to try and get up the pointy end.
Then have two glasses of fizzy grape juice on board.

And remember Darren that each glass of fizzy fermented grape juice is equal to 6 of your 5 a day, so it's good for you! ):

Unfortunately being a wage slave indentured to "the man" means that each time I put fingers to keys I am interrupted by work...

Just so everyone knows we used L1 for disembarkation, so we were off before PE as they were held back much to their disgust... y)
