"Our sale, Your Dreams" :? :?

Sale fares have been loaded onto VS website. Seems like good deals in Economy but nothing in Premium or Upper Class heading to the USA west coast :(

Perhaps the BA World sale will be better :) and VS will match those.

Excellent, looks like all the predictions were true :) and it probably does explain, as someone suspected, the hardly enticing UC fares shown to Asia a couple of days ago. Wish I could take advantage of this, but I'm already doing 3 leisure long-haul trips before the end of June next year.

Can't find any sale fares to MCO during the sale period in January - just the same price they've been for weeks!

Actually I just helped my colleague do a search for sale fares to MIA (I'm like a travel agent in my office these days!). I checked for O fares on ITA matrix, and it only pulled up 2 O fares (return), both of which are in March, and nothing for when he wants to travel (in May). Maybe VS hasn't actually released the O fares properly yet??

No bargains for me either, looking for LAX flights and they are still cheaper with BA and that's including paying BA to reserve seats!!
In fact I can't find the virgin advertised sale fares for any dates they have advertised :(!

I found the 2 in March, and my colleague had just received an email from VS advising him of the sale, but the small prints say something on the line of "for travel up to 31 March 2015". This of course contradicts what the website is advertising, so I do hope that those O fares will be released soon...

Ah so it is! How strange to advertise those fares before they are bookable?

Can't see much of a sale for MCO from either GLA or MAN going out on the 19th June 2015..In fact MAN is more expensive than when I looked at the weekend. Thought I might have bagged a bargain on the MAN route for roundabout that date.

I think the days of all-encompassing sales covering all cabins and all routes on virtually all dates are behind us.

As the economy picks up the airlines can afford to be pickier about what they discount and certainly recent BA (and therefore VS) sales have been more selective.

There's no point discounting tickets they know they'll be able to sell at full price.

I believe that the sale fares have now been further reduced!

I was looking at the LHR-DXB economy fares today for a work trip in November. Although the BA and VS prices were identical this morning, by this afternoon, VS was coming out to be £40 more than BA (as BA reduced its price). I did notice yesterday that the DXB economy wasn't on the list of destinations for sale (though VS was running middle east offers just before the sale).

I had some faith in the VS revenue management department to react to the price difference, and had held off the booking. having just checked the VS sale page, Dubai has been magically added to the economy sales list, with PE fares reduced from 719 yesterday to 669 now. I have also noticed a few others that have been further reduced, including Tokyo, Shanghai and Hong Kong (and probably others).

Sorry for the long winded explanation, but I wanted to flag this in case it would be of help to someone :) if you had written off the sale yesterday, it might be worth another look.

Just checked ba website and the ba sale is now on!

It's interesting how VS and ba deal with the marketing of the sales so differently - VS advertising the sales fares before we are able to book them, and ba making the fares available before announcing the sale. I have to say that I think the latter is more sensible.
