V-Flyer

Hello you dear lot, I've bored you silly all year about my search for two Gs for our flight on Saturday to EWR. Zilch. One, the only one I've seen in all that time, came up at the weekend, £80 each (we're in S fare code so only taxes etc.) OH said no, too expensive and anyway only one available.

And glory hallelujah, I've just had a phone call from Virgin offering TWO for £53 each, so not much more for the two of us than OH was quoted per person.

So I took it and will be laughing all the way up those wonderful stairs to LHR CH. Eldest son and DIL are going with us on the flight though they are travelling freight but we'll be able to guest them in. And yes, OK, it's a sorry bus flight but you know what, I really, really don't care!!!

And, not just that, but the lovely FC guy said he would check for us the week before we return and phone if there are two for the return flight on 20 October. Isn't that just fantastic?

Isn't life wonderful when a plan comes together?

Congratulations! Fingers crossed for your return trip to work out that way, too. Did FC know that you were looking for Gs, or was it by virtue of you having two S fare tickets that meant you got a phone call offering an upgrade? I think it's great that they do that.

We're thinking it may have been because we've been phoning a lot, but who knows, maybe P/E are looking so full that they needed the space and since we had S fares, we were likely candidates.

Ok please don't bite as I'm a newby. But what is a G? Is this an upgraded ticket? How come it was only £53 - was that £53 plus miles?
I ask because we have S tickets in PE but are interested in upgrades.
