Mobile Boarding Pass & a printed one.

Hi,
This may seem a bit sad to many, but I have managed to keep nearly all the boarding passes I have ever had over many years of flying. Something to remind myself when the mind goes with old age.
Anyway the question is: If I get a boarding pass sent to my mobile phone, can I then print a paper copy at the airport and stick that in my bag (primarily to stop the TSA converting into something resembling a piece of paper you've doodled on) and then still keep using the mobile one or does printing another one out change the barcode or something and render the previously issued one unuseable?
If I can have a mobile one and a printed one I may give it a trial run on my upcoming LR flights to EDI and back to LHR but thought i'd check with you guys first.
Many thanks.
Steve.

Not sure about Virgin as we had paper ones when I flew with them but Americsn and BAboth allowed me to have both electronic and paper. This was out of MCO to MIA with American and LGW to BCN and TXL to LHR with BA.

Mobile ones don't and never have worked at the automatic gates at LHR with Little Red flights (even now they have moved into T2 apparently)

It worked fine for me on Tuesday.
and I have used them when they were at T1 without any problem.
When I went a couple of weeks ago with Mrs D we printed them out at one of the kiosks and they were a problem for both of us.

I always check in online and get the boarding pass sent to pass book, I like having them there to look back on previous travel. I still get a printed one at bag drop and keep these also. Not sure what American airports accept mobile boarding cards.

Thanks everyone for your replies, I will see what happens tomorrow with both mobile & a printed copy.
Glad i'm not the only one who likes to keep copies of boarding passes - I feel more normal now
Steve.

they work on the standard gates in but for some reason they never work on the priority lane.

i think the LHR fast track gates look for business class equivalent/higher
the LR boarding passes are EC so they get rejected and you have to go through the staffed lane with the manual check of your FC/other card
