Phew!!!!!!
Posted: 19 Sep 2014, 04:24.....so, we arrived on VS23 last week in UC, having found G availability for our outbound flights but still in economy on M's for the return home on VS24.
Searching dummy bookings and calling FC every day to no avail until late last night when one G became available....I done the gentlemanly thing and got my wife upgraded while my daughter and I remained in economy.
Then first thing this morning one more was released.....now the dilemma, do I leave my 14 yr old in economy on her own? No, of course I don't, I upgrade her leaving just me in economy with no seats at all left in UC, not even revenue seats! Time to sweat!
With a drive from LAS to LAX with no wifi or phone access to call FC, I really wasn't looking forward to the flight home, knowing they were sat up front with me squeezed in at the back!
Arrived in LAX at about 3.30, and thought I'd just check at the VS ticket desk if there was anything available....."Sir, there has been a cancellation, we now have one seat available to purchase in UC, wait while I make a phone call"......please, please I mutter under my breath! "Sir, I am able to change the revenue seat to a G reward seat for you, would you like me to do that?" Whoop whoop!
So all UC boarding passes issued, bags checked and we headed off to Santa Monica for dinner......have now dropped off the hire car and am sat in a very busy Virgin America Loft in T3 awaiting transfer to T2 for the VS24.......
phew, that got very close!!!!
