Ok, so I've never really considered this before, but looks like good prices from Manchester to Barbados on Travelzoo (some from Gatwick, but might be BA). They state its a VS flight there.

So if I book this nice wee holiday, and get my reference, I completely get that its not an upgradable ticket.

However, can I then contact VS, get them to bump it up to whatever upgrades, and then upgrade via miles?

With some planning this might work, and with Barbados its one of those ones where the accomodation is usually quite costly for what it is (and doesn't hit the cheap Z's often like Jamaica or Cancun, and flys from Manchester too, which suits us).

No, not possible sorry. Flights booked via an agent can only be upgraded by that agent.

VS will not discuss the flight booking with you either even if your have your VS PNR.

The only time you can upgrade an agent booked flight directly with VS is at the airport on the day of travel using money.

In addition I don't think you can use miles to upgrade flights booked via an agent, even if it's an upgradable fare. Only flights booked direct via VS can be upgraded with miles.

Ok, fair enough. Seems reasonable. Did seem interesting though, and seems new for Manchester to Barabados...
