Just booked economy to Barbados in December under the reward seat sale. Knowing there is only three upper left outboard would one book extra legroom or even exit row outbound now or wait a little longer and hope that revenue release the rest of the seats.
I understand that the extra legroom and exit seats are non refundable.

I am hopeful for G on the return as lots of availability at the moment

Has anyone left it late to book exit seats?

I imagine if there are only 3 seats left in UC, it is unlikely they will be released as G's and if they are it would be much closer to the actual day of the flight,

I would book the extra leg room seats now, if G's become available in the grand scheme of things the cost of the extra leg room seats isn't that much to worry about.

If you've done a load check and it's showing only 3 UC seats left, then there are only 3 UC seats left. When it comes to selling seats for cash, they don't hold any back - everything goes on sale at T-336 and if there are only 3 left it means the rest have been sold and as Neil says, it's unlikely they'll be released as Gs.

Having said that, there's always the possibility of cancellations and last minute no-shows, in which case they might be sold as Gs right up to departure so keep checking. In the meantime, though, if you want the security of extra legroom in Y I'd book it now to be certain.

I have been refunded cost of extra legroom when I nabbed a G at check in, so you shouldn't lose out.

No doubt they say extra legroom & exit row seats are non-refundable to stop people demanding their money back when they get on board and discover they could have bagged a whole row of empty seats for nothing!
